Oktoberfest in Vancouver

The host venue for Oktoberfest in Vancouver is at the Vancouver Alpen Club located on Victoria Dr. at 33rd Ave. The Vancouver Alpen Club has been around for 75 years bringing German food and tradition to Vancouver. The Deutsches Haus Restaurant serves up tasty German continental cuisine and the Club offers music and dancing.

The Oktoberfest is a blast to attend especially if you can't make it to Barvaria.

Alex Fraser at Sunset

A good friend of mine loves to ride his bike and take photos of the lower mainland area.

The photo is of the Alex Fraser bridge at sunset.

Enjoy!

Are You Transit Ready?

All Metro Vancouver transit users need to be transit ready this year. Translink has finally stepped up fare enforcement on the Skytrains and Buses.

Transit Police and now also Transit Security will hand out tickets for fare evaders. These tickets are enforceable by collection agencies and are tied to car insurance. If a fare evader does not pay the ticket then he/she cannot renew their insurance.

The new turnstiles at Skytrain stations will be operational by 2013. The new fare system along with the increased fare enforcement will have some glitches but will save the taxpayer money in the long run.

Make sure you're Transit Ready.

Life is Good in Vancouver

Life is good in Vancouver. The kids are back to school, the summer holidays are over and Vancouver has returned to it's regular beat.

The forecast for Vancouver is sunny days ahead. We've had a great warm summer even though it arrived late, and it seems that the sunny days are lingering on.

Try to take some time to get outdoors and enjoy sunny Vancouver. Believe me the rainy days are coming!
